Raylight for Mac TRICKS AND TIPS

1. On a normal scan, Raylight checks the folders on every mounted hard drive or P2 Card, searching up to 2 folders deep for a CONTENTS folder.
 
But if you've finished editing a project and do not want Raylight to rescan the files each time, use Finder Command-I and set the folder permission to "NO ACCESS."  Raylight will skip over the folder and only scan your "accessable" folders.
 
If you need to re-edit the project, change the permissions back to "READ ONLY" or "READ+WRITE".

FCP hangs on old Raylight Links

Sometimes old projects created with Raylight
may cause FCP to hang up becasue it is still
trying to load the links files and the MXF files
are no longer on your system.
 
Solution:
 
With FCP closed, try clearing your FCP preferences.
 
This article explains how to clear the FCP preferences.  
Though it is for FCP 4.0 it is still applicable to the lastest FCP:
