    Log of Recent Changes to Atlantis and Maker:

  • Updated Atlantis Windows to 2.1d. Fixes problems with writing long AVI's.
  • Updated Maker Windows to 2.4. Adds 3:2 pulldown remove from HDV (HV20) mpg2 files.
  • Updated Maker Mac to 2.13 for Universal Binary (supports native Intel Mac). Also now requires 12-digit serial number and activation.
  • Updated Atlantis Mac to 2.02 for universal Binary (supports native Intel Mac). Also now requires 12-digit serial number and activation.
  • Updated Atlantis Windows to 2.1e. Fixes problems with writing uncompressed AVI's.
  • Updated Maker Mac to 2.14 to fix problem with deinterlacing DV-compressed Quicktimes.
  • Updated Atlantis Mac to 2.03 to fix problem with deinterlacing DV-compressed Quicktimes.

This bug was introduced in the universal binary version of both applications, where DV-NTSC or DV-PAL quicktimes were coming in at half resolution. The bug did not affect other compressed format or uncompressed quicktimes. Also in this release a problem was fixed with reading ProRes quicktimes.

Updated Maker Windows to 2.4.2 Fixes problems with 24P film motion mode and uncompressed AVIs.


Quicktime notes:

  • For Windows DVFilm Maker and Atlantis: Quicktime 7.5 for Windows is supported. Older Quicktime for Windows from 5.0-5.x and 6.1 through 7 also work OK. Newer versions may work as well. However if you have an nVidia-based graphics card and quicktime version earlier than 7.5, set quicktime to GDI Safe Mode by clicking Edit->Preferences->Quicktime Preferences, Advanced, Select "Safe mode (GDI only)". This is not necessary for Raylight, only for DVFilm Maker and DVFilm Atlantis.
  • No known problems with Macintosh Quicktime. Maker and Atlantis now require QT7 and OSX 10.4 or later.
  • Quicktime is not required for Raylight or Raylight ULTRA
