new motion detector in release 2.0, causing less than optimum
sharpness in static areas of the screen. Film-motion look and
60i to 24P conversion was affected. With this bug fixed, static
areas of the screen should pass through DVFilm Maker completely
unchanged, as they should be.
Sep 20th, 2004 - Mac/Win Maker 2.00f - still a problem in 60i to 24P
conversion, now fixed. Only 60i to 24P conversion was affected.

Sep 20th 2004 - Atlantis 2.0 for both Win/Mac released. Many new features including
NTSC to PAL conversion. Better soundtrack processing for PAL to

video to allow smoother playback on slow hard drives. Atlantis

letterboxing problem.

Dec 22nd 2004 - Maker 2.1 released, supports conversion of HDV

to HD AVI as well as Quicktime.
- Apr 24th 2005 - Windows Maker 2.20b. Fixes some problems with
HDV conversion: For MPEG2 conversion, deselect YUV mode for higher
contrast/more saturated look. Some problems with AVI's in Vegas
and other applications fixed. Adding to batch no longer displays
first frame of movie.
- May 10 2005 - Updated Mac software (both Maker and Atlantis) for
OS X - Tiger. Applications should now run on any version of OS
X. OS 9 is no longer supported. Also Atlantis for Mac now does
direct 24P to PAL conversion.

with mpeg to avi conversions
- May 1 2006 - Updated Mac Atlantis and Maker. The downloads are
now in dmg (disk image) format for easier installation. Fixed
a minor bug in Maker regarding audio for HDV quicktimes. Clarification
on the two versions of Maker (which used to be in the "HD" and
"SD" folders). There are two versions of Maker: one version runs
under QT7 and OS10.4 (Tiger) and is required to read HDV quicktimes.
It's in the "QT7" folder. This version can be used for any type
quicktime including non-HD movies like PAL/NTSC. However it will
not run under older Mac OS's due to changes Apple made to the
OS X system libraries. Older OS X users must run the "QT6" version.
If you think that's confusing, imagine what it was like to figure
all this out! Thanks Apple.
- May 11 2006 - Updated Maker for Windows to 2.3. Many new features
including HVX200 or Firestore MXF translation to Quicktime or
AVI, 2-pass pulldown removal, ability to read DVD MPEGs, JVC HD100

to DV or vice-versa. Problems with Quicktime 7 have been solved.
Consult the ReadMe file included with the download for details.

Quicktime notes:
- For Windows DVFilm Maker and Atlantis: Quicktime 7.1.6 for Windows is supported. Older Quicktime for Windows from 5.0-5.x and 6.1
through 7 also work OK. Newer versions may work as well. Hower if you have an nVidia-based
graphics card, set quicktime to GDI Safe Mode by clicking Edit->Preferences->Quicktime
Preferences, Advanced, Select "Safe mode (GDI only)". This is
not necessary for Raylight, only for DVFilm Maker and DVFilm Atlantis.
- No known problems with Macintosh Quicktime but try to upgrade
to Mac QT7 and at least Mac OS 10.4 as soon as you can, for compatibility
with HDV.
- Quicktime is not required for WIndows DVFilm RAYLIGHT
